Everyone loves Dutch cheese! Gouda and Edam are probably the best known varieties, but Emmental, Cheddar and even Mozzarella - to name but a few - are produced in Holland and exported all over the world.
One of the biggest specialist manufacturers is Poll-Food BV of Bodegraven, situated in the heart of the Netherland's cheese and green field regions. Their huge product range is available in a seemingly endless variety of packs containing slices, sticks, cubes, grated and shredded cheese.
Poll-Food have no fewer than 13 slicing lines in constant operation, which are equipped with AEW THURNE PolySlicers, Polyslicer Plus, MS and Junior Slicers.
Pack variety is important and the company supplies a multitude of customers from hospital caterers to food service organisations and retailers, with cheese packed in single slices to bulk packs containing up to 50 slices. Interleaved packs are also produced.
It goes without saying that presentation is all important, and AEW THURNE machines have something of a reputation for producing superbly cut slices, both stacked and shingled.
