SUCCULENT VARIETIES FROM SOUTHERN IRELAND
Carroll Meats of Tullamore, Southern Ireland, was established in 1979 as a distributor of their own brand cooked meats.
The business has enjoyed strong growth. It employs 90 people, holds EEC approvals, operates a HACCP programme and runs a fleet of 21 refrigerated vehicles.
In 1984 they decided to invest in their own manufacturing facility, having identified a market for 'natural' and more traditional cooked ham products.
This proved to be a wise move and demand increased to such an extent that it became neces sary to invest in high speed slicing systems.
Sales to multiple retailers and independent franchise outlets were and indeed, still are, on the increase, along with the variety of products having 100 per cent meat content. Wafer thin slices of ham, turkey and cooked chicken, in a wide range of pack weights, are proving to be popular, so the need for production flexibility as well as speed is a high priority.
Two AEW THURNE Junior Slicers provide this, coping well with high volumes of multiple varieties sometimes as many as nine produced in a single day. With so many product changes taking place at short notice, ease of operation and fast cleaning are a must and for this, the Juniors have earned the full approval of the staff at Carroll Meats.
The Juniors excel themselves with their ability to produce well defined stacks, shingles or shaved product at speed, with reliability and consistency.
General Manager, John Carroll, has nothing but praise for his AEW THURNE Junior Slicers: "They work hard all day and every day, giving us the high throughput and yields that are so essential to us. With the help of these machines and the excellent after sales support that comes with them, we have the ability to expand our future product range even further."
Mmm, more succulent varieties and even more tasty prospects.
