A refreshing change
A refreshing change - that's what Marketing Manager, Gary White, said
about the service and support his company had received from AEW THURNE
when we interviewed him about his new APC Saw, but Eurostock Meats are
no strangers to us as they have a large number of our bandsaws operating
in their County Down, Northern Ireland and St. Helens, Merseyside, UK
plants, both of which have EC and USDA approvals.
The APC Saw is used to produce a wide range of bone-in and boneless products including beef, pork and lamb chops and steaks which retail in many UK-based multiples. It's also employed in the production of vacuum packed beef and veal liver steaks for export to the retail and catering trade in France - that's right, France!
In 1996 the company won the Queen's Award for Export Achievement mainly because of its outstanding success in serving the French retail and wholesale trades, but the BSE crisis of the same year brought an abrupt halt to sales. Swift action was taken to explore other markets and a new range of further processed frozen retail products was developed and successfully launched.
The company also focused its attention on the USA, where the increasing popularity of ethnic products was identified. "There is more merging of tastes as people everywhere are trying out each other's food," said Gary White.
Eurostock sought and achieved USDA approval, at the same time developing contacts and opening a sales office in Boston Ma. www.dawnirishgold.com from which they introduced a new range of high quality, traditional Irish breakfast products (pork sausages and bacon).
High standards, a loyal distributor relationship, coupled with a unique and effective traceability system, have led to Eurostock's reinstatement in the French market too - a superb achievement.
The APC Saw is playing a key role in this remarkable success. Flexibility, high production capacity, fast and easy cleaning and the ability to produce accurate weight portions at speed with high yields matter a lot when you're responding to such demanding customers.
