Bandsaws in New Zealand
Bandsaws for AFFCO-Imlay
The first AEW THURNE 600 Bandsaw used in New Zealand was installed on the West Coast of North Island, at the Wanganui plant of AFFCO-Imlay in 1985.
A second AEW THURNE 600 followed in 1987 and a third went in some years later.
AFFCO-Imlay operates two cutting rooms, each running an AEW THURNE 600 Bandsaw for primal cutting, with two AEW THURNE 400s for sub-primal cutting further down the line.
Each cutting room processes 2,000 carcases a shift and the saws are running continuously for 16 hours a day.
